Question: What does the Bible say about the purpose of human existence? Why were we created, and what is our purpose here on Earth?
This question is on the hearts and minds of many people; and I assume most people would think on this at some stage.
The best I can say for myself, is that cutting a long story short, and referring to the Bible only, as opposed to science fiction, and the many speculations in book form etc.; and not forgetting people like David Attenborough's etc. contributions; the most profound comment I have heard or read was from Albert Einstein; “nothing produces itself”! In other words “there is no such process as spontaneous Creation”!
The amazing human being is unique in the warm blooded “animal kingdom”. That uniqueness is so marked that to me and millions of others it has to have meaning.
Still trying to keep this short and readable, what is that for?
What stands out in humans is their propensity for both good and evil actions; with particular focus on the latter; but God Loves His people (John 3:16)!
When watching the current situation in Gaza, where right and wrong is in conflict, with the misuse of human cunning etc.; it highlights the point of human cleverness when loaded plus or minus (+ or -) in the strategies of the combatants!
What is interesting and stands out in the Bible for myself, is the statement “Mystery of Iniquity” which shouts from the pages, what does that mean?
Paul speaks of it in 2Thess. 2:7–12, with clear wording, but for myself, because Paul is focused in these verses in the context of the time (which we may well be in now); which is the “Lawless” one’s actions to become controller of the world, which would entail the annihilation of Israel, the definition is too small for the profundity of the statement.
No; for myself the statement also encompasses ALL of God’s Domain and Creation, which therefore means that even after the Millennial Reign of Christ Jesus, when Satan is released for a short time to try to use again the human population to fight against Almighty God and His Son Christ Jesus; he will be destroyed “post haste”; and it will be witnessed by all Creation!
That will be possible because the Victory over Satan was Won on the Cross of Calvary; in the Resurrection over death, in the 2nd Advent of Jesus, in the Victory at Armageddon, and in the final battle with Satan and his hordes at the end of the Millennial!
Then the 2 last Chapters of Revelation will be possible; which show that the perfect state of existence will ensue; with the “curse” eliminated, and Jesus has handed to His Father “the finished work”; which was necessary after the effect of Satan with Adam and Eve; and the “Mystery of Iniquity” is vanquished.
